Mikkel Alexander Grabowski

Mikkel Alexander Grabowski was born in 1966 in Denmark and raised partly in Kenya.  Mikkel was trained by some of the most skilled photographers in Denmark; Leif Schiller, Carl Johan von Cappelen and Andrew Stewart.

In 1987 he was employed as photographer/producer by ST&O Studio in Copenhagen, specializing in audio-visual productions for companies like Novo Nordisk, FLS Industries, SAS, B&O, Carlsberg, GN Store Nord and many more. At the age of 24 he became the photographer in chief of “Danish Symphony” – the 67-projector multimedia show for the Danish Pavillion at the World Fare in Seville 1992.

Since then Mikkel Grabowski has worked as a still photographer on a number of Danish movies as well as graduating from The National Danish Film School and from University of Copenhagen, with a Master of Arts in African studies about storytelling with film and photography.

He is the photographer and author of a coffee table book Mølleåen and his images from Mølleåen has been on display at six exhibitions in danish museums, galleries and cultural houses. He also has a permanent exhibition at Bagsværd Station.

Mikkel has photographed in more than 30 countries around the world and his childhood experiences in Africa sparked a particular interest for this continent resulting in the creation of an extensive website Africa-expert.com.

His photos have been published in Politiken, Berlingske Tidende, Euroman, Ekstra Bladet, Information, Weekendavisen and Billedbladet and some of his work is currently represented by www.gallerystock.comwww.polfoto.dk
